Asset Risk
Risk is the product of consequence and condition. The horizontal axis is each asset's performance criticality - how much supply, population and pressure depends on it - and the vertical axis is its overall condition score, normalised across the compressor, junction and valve health models so all asset families sit on one 0-100 scale. Health increases downwards, so assets drifting towards the upper right combine high consequence with degrading condition and are the intervention priorities.
How the composite risk is scored
Degradation is 100 minus health. Risk blends the two signals as 65% of the geometric mean of criticality and degradation plus 35% of their arithmetic mean, so an asset needs both a consequence and a condition case to reach the upper bands, while a severe reading on one side alone still lifts it off the floor. The diagonal bands are the loci where that score crosses 20, 35, 50, 65.
Where the condition scores come from
Compressor stations use a 0-100 condition index from vibration, thermodynamic performance, lube oil, cooler approach and control-system indicators. Junctions use the 1-5 Health Index convention from NDT, cathodic protection and valve proof testing. Sectionalising valves use the 0-100% Valve Health Index from sealing integrity, stroke capability and physical condition.
Synthetic condition data
No live SCADA, APM or inspection feed is connected. Health scores and instrument readings are deterministic synthetic values generated from each asset's name, and criticality rests on incomplete open data. This view demonstrates the method, not the true condition of live assets.
